Ray Bugara has been decorative painting for more than 30 years.
His artistic skills were honed at Cooper Union and perfected under the tutelage of Pierre Finkelstein. He also apprenticed with the renowned Evergreen, Mayer Murphy and Thomas & O’Brien studios prior to establishing his own thriving business.
Ray’s skill set is comprehensive: including custom murals, abstract and figurative fine art on canvas, trompe l’oiel, historic renovation, Venetian plaster, Fine Paints of Europe lacquering and numerous faux finishes such as wood graining, marbleizing, guilding, stria, geometric patterning, bamboo, stencil and hand-painted signage. He’s also a master of refined wallpaper installation and luxe conventional painting.
Off the clock, you might find him biking around New York City studying the work of other artisans or in his studio painting.
